Masterminds Adam Meggido and Sean McCann are back in Edinburgh with their whip smart show Rhapsodes! From the creators of Olivier Award-winning ‘Showstopper! The Improvised Musical’, this is competitive improv as you've never seen it.

In Ancient Greece, the ‘rhapsodes’ would compete for prizes at the great artistic festivals in Athens. Now, almost three thousand years later, Adam and Sean honour this tradition by attempting the most-humanly-impossible-to-improvise challenges known to man – competing against one another to create a fully-authentic Shakespearean masterpiece, made up on the spot, right before your eyes. Yes, in iambic pentameter. Incorporating rap, poetry and any literary work you can think of from Pinter to Poe or from Dr Johnson to Dr Seuss, Rhapsodes will change the way you think about improv and – quite possibly – Shakespeare.
