GTI in Valentine's Day dry run: Hoopla 11 Feb 2022

A bit like in films and TV shows where teenagers practice kissing their (e.g) hand before attempting to do so to another human, why not get in shape for Valentine's day by showering love on GTI as we jump around and shout things in a manner that can only be described as "attention seeking?"

GTI will observe one of its most beloved traditions by including a performer, in Sam Roulston, who will only have met the others about half an hour before the show. More about Sam below.

GTI will be sharing the night with the marvellous Gämez and Clusterfox.

Dylan Emery is co-founder of Olivier Award-winning West End, Edinburgh Festival and Radio 4 Impro Hit, Showstopper and Ken Campbell-inspired hard-bardics masterclass, the School of Night.  Dylan's Crunchy Frog Collective website brings all of the U.K.'s impro under One Worldwide Roof.

Susan Harrison’s theatre credits include West End runs in Showstopper and Mischief Theatre, the National, No. 1 Tours and regional theatre. she is in impro double-acts, These Folk with Justin Brett and Beings with Andrew Gentilli. She’s written and performed five shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, was in CBBC sketch show DNN and recently wrote her first short film, Seashore, which won Best Screenplay at Oxford International Short Film Festival. She and Lucy Trodd wrote and performed the web series One Size Fits All - shortlisted for the Funny Women 2021 Awards.

Nell Mooney studied improv with the Upright Citizens Brigade in the US and has worked in London with the likes of Showstopper, The Free Association and Monkey Toast. Her screen credits include Hyde Park on Hudson, Enchanted and Law & Order.

Sam Roulston is an award-winning comedian and writer. A member of the faculty at The Second City, Toronto, he performs and teaches at comedy festivals all over the world including Mama City Improv Festival (Capetown), Hell Yes Fest (New Orleans), The Del Close Marathon (New York City) and The Detroit Improv Festival. His solo show CRINGE (★★★★ - Now Magazine) won The Second City Best New Comedy Award at the Toronto Fringe Festival. He recently returned from the Caribbean where he performed 5 improv shows a week aboard the MSC Seaside.

Phil Whelans - writer and performer of his own Radio 4 sitcom, My First Planet, founder member of Pros from Dover - with whom he did two series of Radio 4's The Infinite Monkey Cage. Phil has worked with everyone from Joan Rivers to Basil Brush, Al Gore to Brian Conley, Robin Williams to Giles Brandreth. He has appeared in Showstopper: the Improvised Musical, Hamlet Improvised, Court in the Act, countless other impro formats and various unsuccessful radio and TV impro pilots.

Patrick Stockbridge is a Musical Director, Composer and Pianist and has performed with an eclectic mix of ensembles; from musical theatre, opera and cabaret singers, to comedy improvisation troupes and circus acts.
